Today I realized something about myself. I assume everyone sees me as my best friends and family do. Accept me for me, no judgements, all love. Makes me wonder how many versions of me there are floating around in people’s heads. What do they see? What don’t they see? Do they really matter?

1. I have a test tomorrow and today is really the only day I’ve studied for it. Actually, I’m fresh into my studying today. Not sure why I chose this plan, but I’ma gonna go with it. I also don’t know why I chose to write a post when I should be doing something else.

2. There is someone banging on the snare drum of their drum set with some cymballization here and there. I haven’t decided if it’s more annoying that they have no creativity/rhythm or that there is constant obnoxious noise coming through my window.

3. That is probably why I decided to write a post instead of study.

4. Noisy dude is making my respiration rate increase and is interfering with my learnings of pharmacology. If I struggle with flea/tick preventative tomorrow or in the clinic, I’m going to remember how noisy dude kept me from figuring this stuff out. No, that’s not fair to noisy dude. I could remove myself from my apartment and study somewhere away from the comforts of my own home.

5. I wonder what noisy dude’s name is? I also wonder when it is acceptable to call the coppers with a noise complaint.

6. Seriously, how could someone get any gratification from making the same noise over and over again? That’s like me playing one note on the piano over and over again. How boring.

7. I wonder if noisy dude is a girl. Maybe it’s a 5 year old and that’s why it sounds so terrible.

8. I just heard a few new beats that would require a longer arm span than a 5 year old has.

9. Adam just localized the lesion. I asked him to drive around on his way over here to find noisy dude.

10. Maybe this will last until 10 and I can call the coppies on them.

11. I’m going to try studying again.

Another one of those cozy moments: a rainy day with the windows open.

I’ve been looking forward to moments like this in my new home. I can’t wait to show you my apartment. I wake up in the mornings and just walk around, looking at everything in its special place. I came home today and felt like I might fall asleep walking up the stairs to my front door. Then I perked up because I remembered I could have a cup of coffee and use my cup and saucer for the first time.

School has begun. I’m in my new apartment. Life is pretty good right now.

I’ve started reading Little House on the Prairie before I go to sleep. It’s the perfect book to read because it requires zero brain power and also puts me in this cozy Silver Dollar City-like mood. This combined with my all-white bedding = a perfect snooze.

While we’re on the subject, a few weeks ago I found Silver Dollar City BBQ sauce at a grocery store in Stillwater, OK. Can you believe that? The moment I saw it I was so beyond words. I dropped my basket on the floor and felt this huge URGE to call everyone I love. It was the best part of my day when I saw that ax in the log in front of the beautiful golden sunset. Dad brought it to my attention that while this is really exciting, we have never eaten anything pertaining to BBQ at SDC.

I thought about bringing the kitty girls to Stillwater with me this year but, it is in their best interest to stay with Mom and Dad. My apartment isn’t stimulating enough for their kitty brains and I’m afraid they would get bored. I don’t have any pesky dogs for them to run away from, no exciting basement to explore and nothing to knock off counters because my apartment is so much cleaner than Mom and Dad’s house. ;)

Speaking of Stella Bella Kitty Girl, she had her 8th birthday on August 27th. What a girl! She got an awesome fort for her birthday that was built over her.

My planner makes me so happy. Do you remember the page in “Pat the Bunny” with the pink, blue and yellow scratch-and-sniff flowers? That’s what my planner reminds me of. Just that one single page that I somehow remember from my childhood.

We celebrated Dad’s birthday with some chicken-fried steak and mashed taters. He requested it after we watched The Pioneer Woman’s show on Food Network. Mom and I had never made this meal before because it seemed so darn intimidating. I figured only real country ladies could perfect it! Well, we did a darn good job and I’m itchin’ to cook it again. It’s either really not that difficult or Mom and I are a couple of darn real country ladies (the likely case).

I got a ‘prised up when I came home today! Thanks for the Harry and David goodies, Doon and Doona! I’m so excited to put them in my cute Paula Deen bowl that has become my cute fruit bowl that sits on a cute yellow cart in my cute little kitchen. Oh, it will all look so cute together.

I am loving my new Warby Parker specs! Thank you to Kelsey + Zivi (@dtftweets) for telling me about them!

Aretha Frankenstein’s is a hip breakfast spot in Chattanooga. It is in the middle of a neighborhood full of character…right up my alley! Mom, dad and I had breakfast here before we left town. We decided that this is what’s missing in the OKC restaurant scene, fo sho.

We had fun hanging out with British cars and British people all week in Chattanooga, TN.
